Can someone help me and check if my .aup3 file is recoverable?
is a 25-minute audio recording for an educational film for children…
Before turning it off, I saved the project as , and save it a second time to be sure. After restarting the computer, the file cannot be opened.
I read the entire topic from start to finish and looked at the link, but unfortunately I don’t understand how to use these files and information

I did it step by step and I received a file that weighs 320kb and is empty
320kb is the size of an empty project database. Post the link to your file.
So I took at look at the .aup3 your posted (Note for others - I am not repairing theses files any more), but I wanted to salute you for efforts and to confirm your results.
So the bad news is there is nothing in your file. I don’t mean nothing in your file to rescue, I mean nothing in your file at all - just binary zeros - as far as I could see, anyway.
And no, I have no idea how or why this could have happened.

After a week, I decided to record the material again. I’ve learned a lesson for the future. Thank you very much for your help and time.

I know this is an older thread however, I read through this entire thing and I am having the same issue. Same thing…have been up to date with audacity and am using 3.6.1. Been working on a file for months, do the exact same thing I’ve done for years on all of my files…and I get an error message that it can’t open the file. Also, it will open a couple of other files I have saved in the same place, but not the bigger one I’ve been working on and of course…the one I need. Any idea how to recover this ? This happened to me about a month ago, I freaked out but found a work around because I had it saved somewhere else I believe. But I assumed that was a one-time thing since this never happened before. I am really concerned now because now I can assume this will continue to happen until it’s fixed. Thank you!
