Towards solving the Earlier Problem, Is there an intrinsic problem with the Effect / Fade Tool

Thank you, Mr. Sampson and Mr. Steve, for engaging with me, and your effort to support me, on my earlier post, Is there an intrinsic problem with the Effect / Fade Tool?.

I had been able to identify the reason for the problem and indicated it tersely in my last post on the said issue.

Since then I too have been trying to replicate the problem (not solution).

My seniors and leaders, you may help identify the problem further in depth.

Please consider using a mono-track podcast, Towards the end, click a position closer to the end of the track and select till the end of the track.

Now, please zoom in to the end section to the lowest possible sampling time period until you can observe an extra bit of blank selection wherein no audio signal exists on the track. Please do nothing about the extra blank selction.

Then use the selection to apply Effect > Truncate Silence. Zoom in to the end section to the lowest possible sampling time period. Can you still observe an extra bit of blank space without audio signal selected there?

It is this extra bit of selected blank space that appears to be causing the small additional bit of blank segment, when other effects, such as Tempo or Fade is applied.

Could be your later version of Audacity has intrinsically solved the issue of imprecise selection. I am unsure, because I can’t test the latest version. In addition, I am satisfied with the audacity version that I can use. But in my case, the problem remains in an imprecise empty selection with no audio signal after the end of the track.
