I record a voiceover for my YouTube videos, and I always remove the breathing using noise gate (it takes ages) and cut to remove empty space or nasty sound artifacts. It always used to just close the gap and keep the segment as one. Now, after a patch, I guess, it splits the clip every time I use cut. This is highly annoying as I have no idea how to merge them back together, other than using select all, which I don’t want to select all.
Is there a way to revert this horrible change, and if not, how can I quickly merge these segmented splits into one, so I can then normalise etc, the whole piece I just recorded?
Thanks
Here is a before and after. I tried to cut a grunting sound out but instead, it now splits the clip. Before, it simply kept the clip as one and removed the selection.
This has been foxed for the latest release 3.7.3

Yes, I can see it has been changed, but how can I get around this issue? I mean, I don’t even know how to merge the two segments together without choosing select all, which I don’t want to do.
Can’t you hold down the shift key while clicking on the two segments?
Download the latest 3.7.3 releas which you can get from the Muse website:
I would suggest using the unbolded link below the big yellow “download” button - unless you really want or need Muse Hub too.
Note that you won’t get in-app alerts to tell you that 3.7.3 is available as Muse temporarily disabled that due to the problems with 3.7.2
Just click and drag around the clip edges and use Ctrl+J

Its a bug in 3.7.2. Revert to 3.7.1 and wait until you are sure that any new version fixes it. The join function in 3.7.2 screws things as well.
Thanks, this fixed it for me. Cheers to everyone who wrote here but reverting has solved the issue.
