Hello. I have a voice recording that periodically has these awful noises in it. I would like to know the cause, but for now how best to minimise please?

Yes, that’s P Popping as above. You can back away from the microphone. Recommended spacing is one Hawaiian Shaka with no blast filter.
Or add the pop and blast filter and use one Power Fist spacing.
You could also try oblique microphone positioning.
And one last, the microphone should not be lower than your mouth. Chin level and below is where most breath noises go.
