unable to overdub

Ive been working on this for over a month..Ive never had a problem with Audacity in at least 5 years until now…this is a new thread as I`ve been locked out of the one I started.

I have been recording with Audacity for about 5 years…just purchased a new hi tec computer with Windows 10 64 bit 32 GB…Im using an Allen and Heath 8 channel usb mixer... I record music...Ive never really had a problem with this editor…suddenly it became unstable…when I record all I can get is a weak signal…I have to turn all levels most of the way to get a weak distorted signal…wont show clipping no matter where settings set too. Ive reinstalled it a couple of times…just now it pretty much cr…

unable to overdub

Hello…I`m using Windows 10…64 bit…Audacity 2.2.2 Ive been unable to overdub..I get a message that says...error opening sound device..change audio host..or..recording device...or recording sample rate \ \ Ive checked and unchecked both the overdub button and the software playthrough…when the boxes are unchecked I am able to record a second track but I cant hear the original…when I check either or both I cannot record and get the error message any ideas ?

Allen and Heath ZEDi-8 mixer not recognized

Ive using Audacity awhile..never had any major issues...Windows 7 Audacity 2.13...I just bought this mixer and it doesn't work..Ive contacted Allen and Heath but haven`t heard anything…downloaded the driver several time…I did get the computer and Audacity to recognize it once but still wouldn’t record…any suggestions ?

At the moment here is where I stand…I cannot listen to music of any kind on my computer

Does your computer have a built-in sound card?
Does that work?
