Split vinyl/tape recordings into tracks, with defined fades and gaps

As a result of some of my first steps in Nyquist way back in 2018 - and with tremendous help from @steve - I created a plug-in that served me very well over the past years. But somehow I never got around to sharing it.

Now’s the time:
What its does is described in pretty much detail in the file itself, so I will only outline here what it does:

  1. you set labels at the end of a track and at the beginning of the following track (where exactly: see code)
  2. you define fade-out and fade-in times for the two tracks, as well als the desired gap you want in between
  3. you put the cursor in between the labels and invoke the macro.
=> you (should) end up with the end/beginning of the tracks faded out/in as desired and the desired silence (gap) in between. Furthermore a label ready to edit at the beginning of the gap to hold the name of the track.
Developed with Audacity 2.x, verified with 3.7.7.

Appreciate feedback if (or if not) you find it useful.

Seeing this and the other recent post about a utility to convert old aup projects to aup3 format makes me wonder why there isn’t a ‘library’ section for people to share these gems. There must be many more.
Anyone?

There was, but it was discontinued by Muse Group when they took over. The collection was merged into this part of their support site.
