Scheduling a recording time

Is it possible to schedule a time for Audacity to automatically start recording a program being streamed to my computer? I would like to set a time to record a program in my Scheduled Tasks group. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks stevethefiddle. At the time I asked the question, I was using Audacity 1.2.6. In looking around the forum, I found that Audacity 1.3.5 was available and updated. However, I didn’t look at it thoroughly enough.

Thanks again for your reply.

i would like to schedule recording more than once a day and repeat this day after day. for example, i would like to record the first 30 seconds of every hour every day.

an alternative route would be for me to record continuous consecutive 30 second sound files then delete the ones i dont want. is there some way to set a maximum file size after which it saves the file and starts another?

if not, does anyone know of any other recording software in which i can set a maximum file size to say 30 sec and let it continuously record? sensible time stamped automatic file name generation would be useful. the bad news, 8 channel windows7 and ASIO support required (presonus firestudio project sound card). the good news, i have a huge pile of external hard drives and i don’t mind paying/donating a small amount of money. Sony sound forge 10 will do this but costs £300 per licence and i need it to run on 3 computers and only want it for recording (i have another application that uses the files).

??? i have 1.3.9 and do not see it.

The developers moved it to the Transport menu (just to keep us on out toes

Or use SHIFT+T
