Recording multiple tracks audio bleed throuh

I decided to edit an old Audacity project of 16 tracks, saved about 10 years ago; and to my surprise, sounds can be heard in the background of neighboring tracks as if I were using a multitrack tape recorder. Apart from storing audio tracks as separate files, is there any way to prevent audio tracks in a saved project from leaking?

I’ve just started using Audacity on my laptop (Windows 10). I’m trying to overdub tracks on top of each other. I’m using one Rode condenser mic through a Mackie mixer into my laptop. Bleed from one track to another - windows 10 operating system.

Hi folks I am new to this so please be patient. I imported an mp3 backing track (track 1)and then tried to record a vocal track on track 2. On the vocal track I hear a high level of the backing track. At first I thought the mic was picking up acoustic bleed from my enclosed headphones, they hardly make any acoustic noise at all. Audio Bleed from Track 1 when Recording Track 2

Hello everyone. Yesterday was the first time I tried using Audacity. I’ve never used it before. bleed thru

hello…Im using Audacity 2.4.2 windows 10 64 bit Zedi 8 mixer..Im getting bleed thru when I overdub…mic disconnected gain all the way down…i still get a significant piece of the original recording in the new track…what should I do ? [Screenshot (1).png]
