Realtime Effects linked between tracks made by duplication

I have a bunch of tracks with Toneboosters realtime effects plugins on them. It is my first time using effects.
I wanted one moment of one track to have a different effect. I duplicated the track and trimmed away all but the target moment. This preserved both timing and the stack of already applied effects so I could just edit one of them. I renamed the track to make sure I wasn’t getting confused.

When I edit the effect in EITHER track, the main one or the moment one, it affects the other track and overrides the effect in the other track! Even though to my eye I have two separate tracks with two separate but identical stacks of effects on them.

E.g. I have track A, duplicated as track B. I edit the reverb in track B and it changes the reverb in track A in the same way! There is no affect to Track C, which uses an entirely separately generated instance of the same TB Reverb plugin.
I can only see a thread on here asking for this "feature’, so I can only assume this is a bug? I am so new to mixing that it took a long time to get Track A set up how I wanted, and ctrl z does nothing to the Realtime Effects settings so i have lost a lot of work not realizing I was messing up Track A while clearly editing Track B. Is this linking of effects a setting now? How do I turn it off

Looks like this known and logged bug:
