I really wish i could make a palette of fx I’m using, similar to repeat last effect, but with a palette of like 10? Different fx that i could access with a click… does that make sense? Should i draw a diagram?
You can build a Macro to do that - see here in the Audacity manual:
And see this section of the Muse Audacity Support site:

I thought macro was a sequence? And i can’t figure out how to even do that (create a sequence). I’ve tried so many times but i can’t remember what the problem is and I’m away from my device atm…
A macro is just a set of effects chained together, to be run one after the other automatically
- You can set the required parameters for each effect in the macro
- If you use the macro a lot you can set a custom keyboard shortcut for it - see:

Right OK that’s how i understood it. What i mean is a palette of fx to use at a click, interchangeably in any order. Just hanging out and available to jump in as i need them.
I seem to recall that for the version 4 of Audacity (no idea of the timeframe) Muse may well be considering a “Favorites” section in the Effect menu which would enable you to place your palette items there.
Meanwhile how about this for a workaround:
- disable all the effects that you don’t need for your palette, use Effect > Plugin Manager for that
- In Effects preferences set the “Effect menu organization” to be “Sort by effect name”
If you later find you need one of the disable effects you can simply re-enable it (temporarily or permanently).
I did just this when I was digitizing my LPs and tapes some years ago when I didn’t need most of the effects.
