Quick Track Splits [SOLVED]

Greetings Friends,

I’m using Audacity to record board meetings at work. The meeting audio is fed directly into a Windows PC. At the conclusion of each meeting, we have to go back and manually cut the main track into separate tracks which align with the meeting agenda items. While Audacity works great for the actual capture, the “track splits” afterwards are a nightmare.

Is there a way to split a track in real time while recording? I know that you can stop and create a new project, but by doing that we risk losing segments of the meetings.

I hope this makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My suggestion would be to drop a label at the required point while you are recording.

Ctrl + M shortcut cut will drop a label at the current Record (or play) position,

You can use Export Multiple to export the labelled sections into different audio files.
