OK, I see from this report that chkdsk has found no problems. I believe this satisfies crsib’s request:
OK, so I have looked into this project. It looks as though the first half of the second track on this project is damaged. Unfortunately, I am merely a volunteer and I am all out of time today. I’ll see what I can’t find tomorrow. Wednesday looks better.
OK, you got lucky. The left channel of the second track was trashed (lost) during the first 14 minutes (track #2). So I simply copied the first 14 minutes of the right track over that and your project is rebuilt!
I have PM’d the link to the rebuilt file.
Hey jademan,
Thanks a lot for your efforts. It is really much appreciated!
It is quite weird. In the original wav-extract there was a fall out of the left channel two short places. Sound like I should try to record mono.
Well, I will try to double secure myself when I work onwards through the editing process and then I will try to install a Audacity version 2 instead. However, I have a feeling this is not the last time.
It would be good if I can get some kind of instructions to avoid this from your developers.
All the best,
Niels
Hi! I have the same problem, I almost finished my contemporary piece for piano trio and the power went off. Even though I saved the file, it cannot open at all and the message that the project is corrupt (Unable to work with the blockfiles) pops up everytime. Tried to open it on another computer, but with no success. Can I also send you the file so you can send me the repaired one? I would be so grateful!
No.
A tool has been developed so that you can do this yourself. It is a lot easier and faster than zipping uploading, waiting, etc. See this post: Corrupt or Otherwise Broken Audacity Project Recovery
