Hello community, I have a problem with the Noise Reduction effect. I’ve been using it for years without any issues, but for some time now it does absolutely nothing to the audio track once I apply the effect. I haven’t changed any settings, and no processing window pops up either. I’ve completely reinstalled Audacity, reset the configuration, and even deleted the entire “AppData” (Roaming) folder. Still, nothing changes: “Noise Reduction” doesn’t affect my audio track at all, regardless of the settings. I’m desperate – can anyone help? Many thanks in advance!
Noise reduction in Audacity is a 2-step process … Noise Reduction - Audacity Manual
Which Audacity version are you using and did you switch to it about the time the noise reduction stopped working?

As I said, I have been working with noise reducing effect for many years - so I know how it usually works…
I am currently using version 3.7.5 and the effect stopped working one version ago, so it has nothing to do with the update.
Although I don’t have a noisy file handy it seems to be working for me.
Since I didn’t have noise I selected some regular audio as my Noise Profile. I also set the noise reduction to 48dB maximum effect. When I selected the whole file and applied the effect I got a nearly silent file… A drastic change as expected.
Testing on W10 with 3.7.5 I cannot replicate this, Noise Reduction works for me.

That´s what I currently did. Setting the NR to 48 dB maximum and effect and still nothing happens…
