I have Windows 7 and Audacity version 2.0.5.
Hi
There seems to be lots of information about the selection tool and selecting sections of audio, but there are some really basic things I can’t find answers to after spending 2 hours searching through Audacity manuals and doing heaps of Google searches. I have also watched several introductory vide clips.
So how do you deselect audio once it has been selected ie. if you make a mistake?
Sure, it gets deselected if you click off it, but it seems to stay selected on the timeline above the track window. (The undo button doesn’t fix it either.)
And it seems like there are two ways on the timeline that it stays selected – the whole portion of the timeline goes grey and/ or you get a little (easily removable) bar with an arrow at each end as well. What do these two functions mean and how do I “reset” them so nothing at all is selected?
I can’t seem to do this unless I close Audacity and I start all over again.
Thanks!
Have you seen this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/timeline.html
WC
Make another selection or close the track.
