low quality mode disappeared under monterey?

Hi, I’m noticing that Audacity 3.0.5 isn’t playing back audio smoothly. This issue existed on my 16" MacBook Pro (running macOS 10.15.7), and it still shows up on one of these iMacs we have at our college. For reference, I’m on a 2019 Retina 5K, 27-inch iMac.

I know there used to be an option to run any app in “low quality” mode (which solved the issue completely), but, since the iMac on campus runs 12.0.1, I can’t find the option anymore when I go to “Get Info”. Did Apple remove the option after Catalina? Seems kind of dumb that the issue can exist in newer versions, and the option appears to have been removed from macOS Monterey.

Is there a different workaround for this (other than updating the app to 3.1.3 [I hate that the time shift tool was replaced, so I’m using 3.0.5 until it becomes incompatible])?

I think they removed it after Big Sur.

Yes, see this post: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/3-1-3-laggy-on-monterey/63863/5
