Lots of distorsion on the analog signal

I am sorry about late response but when still trying to fix this I realized that the recording volume/level goes up to maximum when I start recording. I cant adjust the recording volume before I start a recording but if I record a few seconds and stop I can lower the record volume but when I start a new recording it goes back to maximum.

That might be a Linux setting…

I don’t know about Linux, but Windows has optional “enhancements” that include automatic volume control and noise suppression and they can foul-up recording in lots of weird ways.

But I’d be surprised if Linux would have something like that enabled by default. And I’ve never heard of Linux having anything like that.

Well!
In the beginning I tried Audacity also on Windows (Dual boot with Ubuntu 24.04 and I think it is W11) with the same result so I thought I might test it now so I started windows and Audacity and there was a update, so I updated and now there is an error when I start a recording in Audacity and it wont record at all.
