Effect list in Audacity is very impressive!
However this makes it long.
I am not sure if I am alone, but full hd laptop screen seems to be already too small for it.
Would it be possible either to make effect in two columns or somewhat algorithmic optimize the shape of this menu, be fit well to the screen?
On the screen shot (below) you see:
at the top is covering other menus, what make hard to operate on them or chose then when accidentally effects are activated.
at the bottom is going outside the screen - I not sure - are there any other effects below Voceder ?
Thanks in advance and regards,
Seweryn.
The developers want (eventually) to make the menus fully customizable, so that you can sort the effects whichever way suits you. However, that’s quite a big job and due to the fact that there are few developers and lots to do, it’s likely to be quite a while before that happens.
In the meantime, a couple of things that help:
After opening the Effect menu, you can type the first character of the effect name, and the list will scroll down to the first (or next) effect that begins with that letter (Windows only)
use the Plug-in Manager to Disable any effects that you don’t want to use (they then won’t show in the menu)
They can be re-enabled later if you g=find you need them
In Effects Preferences change the sort to “Grouped by type”
