I have just installed Audacity 4 and I hate it, for a very tiny detail that has a major impact on my productivity. I can’t use Ctrl Alt shortcuts, because they now point to the various menus and are hardcoded into the software. Who decided to do that ? Number one rule of good keyboard UX is, don’t ever hardcode shortcuts.
I absolutely never need quick access to menus, and I always need quick access to dozens of plugins and effects. So please, either remove the menu shortcuts entirely, or add them to the Shortcuts section so we can disable them and use these key combinations elsewhere.

Also, somebody posted about it before but the thread is closed now ( Is this an option in audacity 4? if not then this is a [SUGGESTION] ) : the playhead is insufferable. Recording something and canceling with Ctrl+Z leaves the playhead where it is at the end of the now canceled clip, instead of bringing it back to where it was before the recording of that clip started. Overall, it really needs to implement the old playhead behavior. Right now it’s really inconvenient.
The latest released version of Audacity is 3.7.8. If you use experimental (or “beta”) software like Audacity 4, you should also use the correct way for suggestions and bug reports - GitHub. Of course, you can share your thoughts / impressions / wishes here, but this forum is not the official place for it, this is a user forum, where you can ask questions etc. and other users (try to) find a solution.
In this forum, obviously discussions are closed automatically after some time. The forum has nothing to do with the version of Audacity you use or discuss.
Ah, right, my bad. I thought the Audacity 4 subsection of the official Audacity forum was for discussing Audacity 4. And I wasn’t complaining about the fact threads get closed, merely noting that I can’t reply to it anymore because that’s what one’s supposed to do to avoid duplicate threads.
