I am unable to download FFmpeg plugin from manual link which does not work

HI There

I am having trouble downloading the FFmpeg plugin needed to upload large audio files. When I follow the directions and click on the link in the manual the https://lame.buanzo.org/#lameosx64bitdl page will not load. I have tried accessing through the audacity libraries route see if the link is working another way but get the same thing. Is the website down or is there somewhere else I can get an FFmpeg plug in from? Is this plugin specific for audacity or can I get a general one from somewhere else?

I am using macOS Catalina 10.15.6 and Audacity 2.4.2

thanks for any help

The link is working for me. Cloudflare was down earlier today so that might have been the problem.

I don’t know if the problem has been sorted for this person, but for me I am unable to access any other ffmpeg sites since a couple of months ago when I first tried. It tells me they it can’t reach the page because the site failed to respond to connection attempts. This is replicated on all devices I’ve tried. Need help

The link to “download page” on this page in the manual works for me.

After you get to the download page you want to download ffmpeg_64bit_osx.pkg.

this link “https://lame.buanzo.org/#lameosx64bitdl” definitely does not work
I have even tried to curl and wget it.
Audacity is an amazing piece of software, why are you all pretending that the ffmpeg download works?

curl https://lame.buanzo.org
curl: (7) Failed to connect to lame.buanzo.org port 443: Connection refused

This link is does not work.

Working fine for me with Firefox.
Curl may not work as the site owner blocks leeching.

Works fine for me too with Firefox

Can’t see with Firefox/Chrome/Safari. Here’s a screenshot from firefox.
Is this something to do with geolocation?
I am in London. Have tried from mobile too.
Would be great to have this on another domain.

I wouldn’t have thought so as I’m also in England.
Hang on in there while I see if I can find anything out.

lame.buanzo.org is behind cloudflare.

the unable to connect error shown in your screen capture makes me believe your nameserver/dns settings are not correct, or something else is wrong

please try:

a) another browser, same computer
b) another computer or mobile device, using wifi (same connection as “a”)
c) different connection, mobile device

Run a full antivirus and a malware scanner, please.

If there were any issue with your Geo or IP, you would have been shown a CloudFlare error page with a Ray ID.

Thanks. It seems like my providers were blocking for some reason. This seems to be a common problem. I have tried on a different connection and it’s working now.
