Okay, so I really kinda hate the new update for audacity. I much prefer the last version and was wondering if there’s a way to downgrade to it. I’ve looked around and all the links that say they are for 2.2.1 bring me to the same screen for the 2.2.2 download. Is there a way to find the 2.2.1 download for real or am I stuck with this update?
Thanks.
Also I hope I posted this in the right area, I literally just made an account and have never posted before. So if this is wrong, please tell me! Again, thanks.
There really are very few changes between 2.2.1 and 2.2.2, except for a few default settings in Preferences (which you can set as you prefer), and a nasty bug in 2.2.1 which can erase parts or all of your project (fixed in 2.2.2).
If you really want to go back to 2.2.1 (and I would strongly advise against doing so, because of the bug), then you can get it from here: http://www.oldfoss.com/Audacity.html (scroll down the page and select 2.2.1 as the version, then click the appropriate link).
And if you do downgrade to 2,2,1 or 2.2.0 then just make darn sure that you don’t use File > save As to save your project back to the existing open projec’s name - instead always use File > Save or its shortcut Ctrl + S
otherwise you are extremely likely to lose your project due to the serious bug that was introduced in 2.2.0, only spotted in 2.2.1 - and was fixed for 2.2.2
