high CPU load on idle

Having Audacity idle, with about 10 files open in the the background, it uses one processor to 100%. This wastes a lot of energy.

I am on macOS Monterey 12.6.3, Audacity 3.2.4.

I do not observe this on W10 testing with 3.2.4 with 10 open idle Audacity projects

After a restart, I also can’t reproduce i anymore. Probably some hanging process left over.
