Getting Rid of the Black Bars

Hi, I recently updated the recent version of Audcity and when I was editing I noticed that the different record segments began drifting apart. When I put them together, I tried to click the black bar to make the recorded segments merge into one. When I clicked it, nothing happened as the black bar stayed there. It’s made it hard for me to edit as I record numerous segments then get rid of the black bar to edit the file as one recording.

How do I get rid of the black bars that separate the segments.

Select around it and use the Ctrl+J shortcut (Cmd+J on a Mac) - the Join Clips command

And if you you have may clips in a track the#at you want joined all at once, select the track and then use Ctrl+J
