General question

Good afternoon, what are the ways to contact Audacity?

Audacity is on

I am looking for an email……..

Audacity doesn’t have a classic Help Desk and there are no clear pathways to communicate with the Developers.

This Forum, users helping each other, is it.

Maybe if you tell us what your goal is we can point you to a solution.

The goal is to contact Audacity via email regarding new offers………

I need an email to make new suggestions please…

Do you mean offers from Audacity, or that you want to offer something to Audacity? What is the nature of the offer? If you want to offer code, then GitHub is the appropriate place. If you want to offer to help with the translations, then there’s a mailing list for the translation volunteers.

I want to suggest something new for Audacity 4, a new feature…

This one? I have an idea for the Audacity software

Yes, I want them to try to do that.

That’s more of an AI task than an audio processing task. Audacity’s AI plug-ins aren’t made by the Audacity team, they are made by Intel.

While your idea is plausible in a research sense, it would be a massive undertaking and goes far beyond the scope of what Audacity is designed for. It would require implementing automatic speech recognition, machine translation, cross-lingual singing voice synthesis, and re-synthesis / alignment for musical timing, pitch contours, phoneme duration, rhythm. Although I’m no longer a member of the Audacity development team, I’m confident that the Audacity team will not attempt such a feature.

If I want to find something like this, what should I type in a Google search to find such software? Can you help me with this please?

It doesn’t yet exist as one thing, but Meta are involved in some of the related fields: https://ai.meta.com/research/seamless-communication/

Is there software that can translate just a singer’s voice track without the melody?

You could try the various “speech to text” apps that are currently available to see if any of those work well enough, and if they do, run the result through a translation app, then run the translated text through a text to speech engine.

Please guide me step by step how to do this, it’s important to me man……….

Hello Steve?

Sorry but AI is not my field. Try Googling for “Speech to text” as a starting point.
