Fixing "Peaking" Audio In Audacity?

Hello Everyone.

I’m using the latest version of Audacity, and need a fix for this problem. Basically I recorded a piece to camera using my ZoomH1 and Lapel Microphone,
And unknown to me the “Auto Level” on the back notched over to the right! Is there a feature in Audacity that can fix this problem?

Envelope tool, if you just want to reduce the loud peak at the start …

There are also Audacity plugins which replicate “Auto Level”, (a/k/a auto-gain, a/k/a AGC),
e.g. LevelSpeech2.ny , AGC.ny
