Exception code 0xc0000005 in Audacity 3.7.3

This bug began for me with Audacity version 3.5.1.

It continued to occur until version 3.6.4, which fixed this error for me.

Every version I have tried after 3.6.4 has caused this error, Exception code 0xc0000005 upon exiting Audacity after editing an audio file, saving the project, exporting audio, then exiting Audacity.

I edit audio once a week at my office. For the fourth week in a row, I’ve gotten this exception code upon exit (after saving my project, exporting audio, and being asked if I want to save my project upon exit [yes]). I just tried version 3.7.3 today, and the crash occurs with that version as well.

I’ll be reverting to 3.6.4 once I post this.

I have saved all the problem reports in case anyone at Audacity is interested in tracking down what is causing this error to occur. I’ve been dismayed at the lack of apparent interest in resolving this issue.

I suggest that - since 3.6.4 is working for you - you stay with that version and avoid updates unless they are really necessary. For example, if your operating system is updated and 3.6.4 would no longer work with it.

The “problem” is that this forum is not a direct contact to the developers of Audacity. It is just a forum, in the sense that users ask questions and other users (try to) answer them.
