Equalization still gone even after reverting back to 2.3.2

I had Audacity 2.3.2 installed on my Windows 7 pc.

Then I installed “audacity-win-2.4.2.exe”

Then I realized that Equalization had been removed in this new version.

So I reinstalled “audacity-win-2.3.2.exe”

However, after reverting back to 2.3.2 again, Equalization was STILL gone!

Why?

Ideas?

Equalization is replaced by two EQ effects Graphic EQ and Filter Curve Eq - not “removed”

I know

but that’s why i reverted back to 2.3.2

But after reinstalling 2.3.2, equalization was STILL gone

When I revert to 2.3.2 I still see the old Equalization.

You could try resetting all your Audacity settings in 2.3.2:
https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#reset

But what is wrong with Graphic EQ and Filter Curve? They are basically the same functionality that existed in the old Equalization, but with the bugs fixed.

The two parts of the old Equalization did not “play nicely” together.

that’s bizarre that it would disappear after uninstall.

maybe if i delete the whole folder and reset

i just cant use the new ones right now because i have existing macros i need to run

p.s. did they finally fix the declicker in the new audacity?

There isn’t really a “they” in community developed software, there’s just those people that contribute and those that don’t.

I assume that you mean the “Click Removal” effect. That has not been changed. I know that effect is rather limited in that there are only certain types of click that it can fix, but as far as I’m aware it isn’t “broken”.
