How do again make edits within the waveform?
I used to be able to very easily use the cursor and “swipe” (highlight) short sections within waveforms and delete the highlighted sections.
On doing so, Audacity would splice the waveforms together and I would save the change(s).
While the manual seems to suggest that I may, I am now not able to do this specific editing procedure.
What I am doing is removing extraneous sounds, such as scratches, ticks, etc., from original audio files (e.g., vinyl recordings).
At present, I am working around this issue by zooming way in, then using the “Draw Tool” to remove the offending signal(s), but this is not as easy as the method that I was using previously.
What am I missing? How do I restore this capability?
