Desibilator in 3.4.2

Hi I love the new features in 3.4.2 I’m happy that the classic filters were preserved.

Where is the desibilator effect filter? I miss it. If it is discontinued, can you recommend a de-ess method or something comparable to the pro tools plug-in soothe. Hot s’s are a nuisance.

Thanks
Jimmy

It’s not shipped with Audacity: you have to install it. Then it appears in “n/a” …

There are free de-esser plugins which work in realtime in Audacity on windows …

Thank you for your time and your detailed response. I went to toneboosters - support - legacy, and downloaded the bundle. I then went to Audacity - tools - nquist plugin installer. I found the bundle in Program Files/ Toneboosters/ Sibilance (I did not see TB_DeEsser_v3) The file name wouldn’t change to reflect the Sibilalnce exe? file. No matter what I clicked on / selected, the file name remained untitiled.

You Jedi Windows Wizards make it sound easy… but I get lost in the intriciasies.

The ToneBoosters plugins are not Nyquist plugin, they are VST2 plugins.
The nyquist installer is not used to install VST plugins.
Unzip this file from Toneboosters …
https://www.toneboosters.com/downloads/TB_Installer_v1.6.0_legacy_win.zip (VST2 not AAX)
It contains “ToneBoosters Legacy Plugins Installer.msi” running that installs the plugins …

Then when you start Audacity they appear here …

Thank you Trebor
