Hey, is there a way to copy the effects i placed on one of my recordings to another? I forgot what effects i put on recording #1 and im trying to get the same sound to recording #2 but i have no clue what effects i put on the first recording. Thank you
No you can’t do that (unless you have not closed the project and can View History or step back through the Undo chain).
But for future reference you can create a Macro of effects to run on any project or file - see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/macros.html

What I usually do is copy the track with the effects into a new project, delete the audio content of the track, and paste my new recorded audio into the empty track. it will still have the effects. I was also hoping for a copy effects option but I don’t think there is one yet.
Not enough words. Delete the audio content of the original project. The new project will have the sound from the old project, but not have any idea what’s going on.
Traditionally, it’s been shaky to open two Projects at once.
The original effects need to be for the whole track, not selections or portions, I’m guessing.
Do you have to do anything so the newly pasted audio accumulates the track’s effects? There’s gotta be something wrong with that, but I can’t put my finger on it.

I should say I’m talking about the “Realtime” effects and not effects applied from the effects tab. realtime effects are adjustable up until exporting the file. effects applied to the audio from the effects immediately applied and the audio is now permanently altered and there is no way that I know of that you can find the history of your effects applications.
Then you are straight out of my world. I’ll be watching this post.
