can't unzip band-stop filter plug-in[SOLVED]

—Audacity 2.0.3 (.exe installer)—Windows 7—

Hi,

I am trying to install a band-stop filter using instructions from the following thread (1st reply).

https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/notiching-music-for-tinnitus-with-xp/27400/1

I downloaded the zipped folder to my desktop. I then dragged and dropped the folder to this final destination. c:Program Files (x86)AudacityPlug-InsBandstop.zip

When I click to “Extract all files” I get the following message:

Compressed (zipped) Folders Error
Compressed (zipped) Folders was unable to create the specified directory. Ensure that the directory does not already exist, and that the path entered is valid.

Would anyone have any idea as to what I am doing wrong? Should I have unzipped the folder from my desktop and then dragged/dropped the files to the Plug-Ins folder?

Thanks in advance for your help,
yeto

It unzips correctly even if dragged elsewhere. That error usually means there is already a folder with the same name that you are trying to extract to.

Unzip to another name. The extracted “bandstop.ny” needs to be in the root of the “Plug-Ins” folder, not in another folder inside that.
