Hmm is it just me or does anyone else have an export issue with the new update? I used audacity as usual a few hours ago and everything worked fine - the only thing that has changed since then is the update. Now I get an export error no matter where I try to export the audio to ![]()
I canât reproduce that. What error are you getting? What OS are you on?
Same issue here: Exception code 0x0000005 on Win10 , Export Audio, On your Computer. Program crash
just to confirm - you donât even get to the exporter window (where you can set name, format, etc)?
I was having this issue for a long time, ever since I updated from Audacity version 3.5.1. I would be able to choose export settings, but then [after clicking the Export button] it would immediately crash. (And crash reports would always fail to send, but thatâs a different issue. #4154 on GitHub, I think.)
Playing with it today, I found that it would only crash if I chose a file format that uses FFMPEG, which I had not updated recently. I downloaded the most recent FFMPEG for Audacity installer (5.0.0, the last one I had downloaded was apparently 2.2.2). Then the crash was no longer!
Others having this issue, try updating FFMPEG for Audacity, see if that helps.
Hi. Updated to FFmpeg 5 as suggested - Still audacity immediately crashes when saving as .amr ![]()
What next ?
Any help appreciated - thanks.
Used to like Audacity, but if canât save back as same file type as edited then . . .
Have managed to export as .Wav on Computer
Exception code 0x0000005 - Report refuses to send.
Have copied the text from one report if any help.
Using 64 bit windows 10
@EzPC @LilliCupYT
We need more details from you to be able to reproduce the issue.
Iâm on Windows 10 64-bit and I cannot reproduce the crash.
- What format, sample rate, and bitrate (and other format options if applicable) are you using when the crash occurs?
- What is the sample rate and bit depth of your project?
- How long is the audio youâre exporting?
- Is it stereo or mono?
- What are your âExport Rangeâ options (entire project/multiple files/current selection) in the Export Audio window when you observe the crash?
Itâd be even better if you could share a screen recording of the crash. Thank you.
Hi. Thanks for reply.
.Amr / Mono / Sample Rate 8000 Hz / Bit Rate 1.2 kbps / Entire Project (Only 1 File) / Audio Length 38 Min 40 Secs.
Crash Report is attached:
Audacity Problem Report.txt (175.6 KB)
There is no screen image to capture (apart from the Crash Report screen) when the crash occurs now, as the program just closes, leaving a saved file of 1kb
Hi Thanks.
Iâm told I cant rely any more than 3 times (!) as a new user - So must edit previous posts!
Hope I can post this then!
There is no screen image to capture (apart from the Crash Report screen) when the crash occurs now, as the program just closes, leaving a saved file of 1kb.
Still crashes if try different settings apart from .amr file type and with only 1 minute of audio !
Program build date: Oct 30 2024
Commit Id: 72fc2e of Wed Oct 30 16:49:31 2024 +0100
Build type: CMake Release build (debug level 1), 32 bits
Compiler: MSVC 19.41.34123.00
So, Downloaded and put FFMpeg v7 in Audacity Program files directory (having renamed original directory/folder of course).
Still crashes just the same ![]()
OK, the crash is definitely somewhere in the direction of FFmpeg. Just to confirm, can you try another FFmpeg version? For example, here is an ffmpeg7 version: https://www.gyan.dev/ffmpeg/builds/packages/ffmpeg-7.0.2-full_build-shared.7z (you need 7zip to extract it, and then point Audacity towards using it in Preferences > Libraries).
Also: Are you using the 32bit or 64bit version of Audacity?
Hi.
No replies made for this lately.
Also no replies for new Topic âCannot Export Audio since 3.7 update - Using FFmpegâ
