Trying to build for the first time…
Following instructions in BUILDING.md for win10, getting next error on step 3 under ## Building on Windows ( 3. Press Configure ):
installed:
cmake: 3.20.6
python: 3.9.7
vs: 2019
any help would be appreciated.

You seem to be promoting discord! What is wrong with answering a compilation issue under the compiling audacity section of the audacity forum?
Thar’s because it is Muse’s preferred channel - the advantage is that there you get the eyes of the developers (less so here).
