Audacity Will Not Record in Windows 11 [SOLVED]

Clicking on the “record” button will start the cursor, and there are signal indications on the VU meters, but no audio is recorded.

Audacity works fine on Windows 10.

Can someone please comment on a possible remedy?

Thank you, jademan. I will have to find the “AppData\Roaming” folder on my Windows 11 machine, and will see if there’s an Audacity file in there.

To find the “AppData\Roaming” folder, click on the magnifying glass on the Windows taskbar, and type %appdata%. WIndows will take you right there.

Thanks ever so much jademan re: getting Audacity to record in Windows 11. You were spot-on in your recommendation to delete the Audacity folder in the “AppData\Roaming” folder. Now it records.

I’m glad you got this working.

My Audacity does not record under Windows 11, and nothing is showing on the VU meters either when I try to record. I have tried all the different settings that ought to work, and deleted the “audacity” folder as the other responder did, that didn’t work either. (The system actually recreated this folder in fact! Then it claims that a certain configuration file is missing or not accessible, only it’s right there! Previously recorded files (under Windows 10 or earlier) will load and play fine, I just can’t record any new files.
