Audacity stops recording if you click on timeline

Hi Steve, hi folks

I’m used to clicking at random on the Audacity window to bring it to the top of my open windows. Recently, I’ve noticed that if my click is on the timeline, it stops any recording that Audacity may have been doing.

Is this expected behaviour? I don’t remember it happening until recently, maybe about a month or 6 weeks ago.

Yes that looks like a regression bug.

I’ll be logging this, but I’ll have to do some further ttesting first to see at which version the regression occurred (but it certainly doesn’t happen in 2.4.2 which is one of my touchstone versions for guaging behaviors)

Yes, this is a regression on 3.1.0, so has been present for nearly three years now.
