Audacity not receiving audio [SOLVED]

I’m recording cassettes and records with an external USB DAC. I’ve been doing this for some time with out major problems.

I recently upgraded to Mojave (10.14.2) and I cannot get any sound to come through Audacity. The input for both Audacity and iMac is set for USB AUDIO CODEC and output is set to Built-in. The iMac sound preference panel shows audio is present (bars are lighting up). However I cannot get Audacity to recognize it or play through. Same settings for Audacity. The line/phono inputs on the DAC are set properly as well. Audio files residing on the iMac play properly.

OS 10.14.2
Audacity 2.3.0

Thanks for any ideas.
Paul

Have you given Audacity permission to use the USB DAC? (See: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/no-signal-from-usb-turntable-mojave-solved/50763/6)

Thanks, Steve! That was it. I’ve never had to do that before. I see it is something new in Mojave.
