Audacity automatically make audio faster

Hello,

I have a problem of the outcome of my recording audio. I don’t know why but after I record and listen to it, the audio becomes faster and at a higher pitch. I made sure to match the audio settings to my recording microphone and windows settings, but it doesn’t change anything. I also check to see if it is recording on 1.0 speed and it is, still, nothing change.

I have been looking for a solution on the internet but it doesn’t help. I don’t know if anyone have had the same issue as me and if you do, how do you solve it?

Did you try setting the Audacity project rate to 48000Hz, (rather than the default 44100Hz), before recording.

Yes I did. I make sure to match the sample rate of the computer to Audacity, but it still doesn’t work

Did you import files with a different sample rate perhaps? Just guesswork unfortunately; All I know is that Audacity 4 has sample rate bugs. Fwiw, my version of Audacity 4, Soundscaper , does not have these issues as in it tracks are just containers for clips and don’t have an inherent sample rate.
