I might be crazy, but I’m trying to work with a 3-hour project (that may be relevant, not sure…)
What I am doing is replacing sections of a 40 year old off-air recording with clean versions. So, I’ll be removing chunks and lining up replacements in a separate track.
When I grab a clip to move around, it moves the playhead and timeline focus to the beginning of the clip selected (when you’re zoomed in, trying to match sounds, that’s like a million miles away).
Similarly, clicking onto the time line does not always guarantee that playback will start where clicked, and not jump back to the beginning of the file (again, it’s a long file).
One more funky clip issue, but I don’t know what triggers it. Sometimes I’ll grab a clip to move, and another clip will disappear. May have to do with the ability to overwrite a clip (or portion of) with another – though I never placed the clip on the one disappearing.
ETA (11/1/25): I forgot about when splitting a clip, the timeline focus jumps to the beginning of the new left-side clip, instead of staying where the split was made (which would be the head of the new right-side clip)
