Audacity 3.7 is out now!

Hi all,

I’ve downloaded it and I like some of the improvements such as grouping the effects menu but I’m wondering if there’s a way to restore what sync locking looks like on the tracks to what was before. Currently it’s just highlighting them all in white no matter what I click on where before I had the transparent clocks that were much better for me.

Apologies if it’s in the settings somewhere and I’ve missed it. Can anyone help?

Thanks

It has been this way since last July: Sync lock doesn't render correctly on clips · Issue #6918 · audacity/audacity · GitHub

Actually this same error already occurs in 3.6.4, the version I just installed (on Linux) and in which I tried the Normalize effect, with the same result as @fred.fredex when I start it through the terminal:

audacity: /path/to/audacity-sources-3.6.4/libraries/lib-wave-track/WaveClip.cpp:2047: WaveClip::StrongInvariantScope::~StrongInvariantScope(): Assertion 'mClip.StrongInvariant()' failed.

So this error has been introduced somewhere between 3.5.1 (the last version I had installed, where Normalize worked) and 3.6.4 @LWinterberg .

Is it not illegal to sell cd copies of Gnu software? I see they also sell llms and other software. For $16 that seems like this person is making a profit off your work here.

It is NOT illegal to sell it. Perhaps it’s unethical, unless for some reason the buyer can’t download it.
