Audacity 2.3.0 fails to launch on 10.6.8 - Snow Leopard

When attempting to load the following message appears, “Audacity cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Audacity works with this version of Mac OS X.” etc…

Opening up the error report finds:
Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libc++.1.dylib
Referenced from: /Volumes/Audacity 2.3.0/Audacity.app/Contents/MacOS/Audacity
Reason: image not found

Hopefully a minor release will come out shortly to fix said issue.

Reverted back to Audacity 2.2.2 which works as expected.

Oooo. Snow Leopard is even older than mine. I wonder if Audacity supports Show Leopard.

You know we stopped getting security updates, right? Many of the Mac people got shifted over to make the iPhone a wondrous and addictive thing.

Just under the wire.

Actually not “under the wire” - with 2.3.0 we have discontinued support for Snow Leopard 10.6
2.2.2 is the last supported version for Snow Leopard, sorry.

See the compatibility chart in the Audacity Wiki:

And we need to update the Audacity Website accordingly
