Asus x870e motherboard blues

Asus x870e Proart-Creator

My previous topic is now closed. BIOS updates later I’m a little farther ahead but still no cigar.

Recording Boss Gx-100 on Asus x870e Proart Creator

My previous mobo was a 15 year old Crosshair-IV-Formula. For my guitar jamming sessions I used to

  • load qjackctl for latency issues
  • load Audacity using JACK
  • load VLC with a jamming video of my own

I would start recording in Audacity and immediately PAUSE it so that it would let me HEAR my guitar until I got done with the session. VLC would play the jamming video I picked until I put another quarter in it.

But with this new board I cannot play VLC and record in Audacity at the same time; it’s one OR the other.

Is there another way to hear my guitar (the effects board is the audio interface and it’s plugged into the motherboard backpanel Line-In)?

I can loop an imported audio in Audacity but recoding kills the loop at the end and even if it worked it would not give me my (indispensable) jamming video with chords and/or sheet srcroll.

Any ideas? (I do NOT want a USB audio interface)
