Annoying popup everytime I perform any action

I am facing this exact issue in the latest version.

I installed it two days back and was working fine till few minutes ago.

And suddenly without changing any settings it has started showing this ‘Audacity Information’ popuo after every action I perform..

Also.. I tried Tools > Reset Configuration ..

And got another popup immediately. Lol.

@irajnish (and @Mega), it seems like you have logging enabled. This is an option which has to be set at compile time. To fix this, you need to download an Audacity version which doesn’t have it enabled, which you can do at audacityteam.org.

Where did you get this Audacity version from?

I got this from audacityteam official website.

Btw, restarting the system has fixed the issue for me.

Issue started happening randomly without any setting change and got fixed by a restart. strange.

very strange. Next time you run into this issue, take note what other programs you have launched. Maybe one of them tries to be a logger or debugger or something and tries to hook into Audacity.

@irajnish could you share the OS version you are using and the versions of “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable” that are installed?

Screenshots of winver and installed apps would work.

By this you mean that this started while you were working in Audacity? Could you remember what operations you performed when this happen, or how long it was running before that?

winversion : Edition Windows 11 Home Single Language
Version 24H2
Installed on ‎11-‎12-‎2024
OS build 26100.4770
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.197.0

Version details of Visual C++ can be checked in the screenshot.

Yes I was working for over 2 hours.
Don’t exactly remember the actions.

Just the normalisation, compressor, limiter on different files one by one.
Also used View > History to undo changes, occasionally.

Sorry if this sounds basic, but never assume…

Does it keep doing this after restarting the computer?

@wrecks0 No. I never faced this issue again after yesterday.
