Adjustable Fade effect installed correctly but missing

Hi folks, I downloaded and installed adjustable fade NY effect, because all recent audacity versions are missing it. The effect shows up in the “Erweiterungsverwaltung” as installed and active, is located in the correct path/folder, but in the effect menue list it is missing. Every other NY effect that I have additionally installed shows up in a strangely called “nicht verfügbar” list, but seems to work fine.

I did everything what is recommended in this case, but now I don’t know what to do anymore. Any idea for a fix or work around is highly appreciated.

PS.: TBH, the best solution would be to include Adjustable Fade in the Fade (“Überblendungen”) drop down menue again. Just fade in and out is a bit too rudimentary. ^^

For anore professional sounding fade I would suggest using the Studio Fade Out - this was written by Forum Elf Steve - I use it for all my musical Fades.

This is what the Audacity Manual has to say about it:

And testing on W10 with 3.7.4 I still see the Adjustable Fade effect:

And it works …

Thank you for your input. To clear things up, I need the opposite from a fade out. Best things often happen in the end of songs and I want to bring them back again to normal level. Adjustable Fade was a big help as it can slowly rise the gain in a marked section from 100% to 300% or 400%.

In the menue of the latest Win Audacity version (3.7.4) there is only Fade In and Out available. As far as I remember the Adjustable Fade is also missing in my Mac version. Crossfade Clips in the Fading section would be needed as well. It is weird that so many effects are missing from scratch.

I your Effekt menu, try looking under the entry “Steve Daulton” - IIRC Steve wrote both the Adjustable fade and the Studio Fade Out, so they may be hiding there.

Thank you so much Peter, there it finally shows up, alongside with “Clips überblenden”! I did not know Steve Daulton wrote it and did not look in his personalized menue… my bad.^^

You only get those personalized menus because you have upgraded from an earlier versions or earlier versions of Audacity.

If you use Tools > Reset Configuration that may sort out the menu structure - or a complete reset will do it.
