maybe a step by step on how to start using audacity for newbs.

I know most of that but there are always those things you just dont stumble across when you learn by tinkering.

Some of those tutorials are the same or similar to the ones in the manual, but can be a little more confusing as they are written to cover both 1.2.x and 1.3.x - but the manula is only 1.3/2.0 and doesn’t have the 1.2 ways of doing things.
Plus there are quite a few “unofficial” tutorials on Audacity usage on t’interweb, including on YouTube.
