Hi guys! I get the -9986 Internal PortAudio Error also. The Rescan Audio devices doesn’t help. It seems to see the USB no problem. I’m using Audacity 3.2.5, and have tried 2 different turntables on Macs with Catalina 10.15.7 and Monterey 12.6.3. I’m using an EZCap Audio Capture Cable. Could it be the cable itself? If so, what audio transfer cable should I get or what else can I try? TIA!
I hate to say this, but you get what you pay for. Amazon gives this all of 3.5 stars, which generally means the product is very poor. I try to find at least 4.2 or 4.3; especially on MacOS.
Many Audacity users have had good luck with the Behringer devices UFO or UCA 202 or 222 or some such. You may also need cables. If you are recording from a turntable, make sure the device has a phono option or is phono capable.
I have heard inquiries about the DigitNow device, but I don’t recall any unfavorable reviews about it.
Thanks for the info! Hard to believe that something that seems so simple can cause such a headache! I’ll check those out and let you know what happens!
