I know there is a software that removes wow and flutter from vinyl and tapes called Capstan, but we all know how expensive that is.
I wasn’t sure if there is a kind of added plugin that you can use on Audacity to remove the wow and flutter from the recordings that were played on a cassette tape player or a turntable. I have one digital recording from YouTube that the sound was from a vinyl, but has a noticeable “wow” irregularity.
I also have some audio from old home made reel to reel tapes of family members talking and doing stuff but the wow and flutter and pitch problems from an old tape make it difficult to listen to. I tried Capstan (had to dig out an old Mac Mini to try it on because it does not work past 10.15 Catalina). It was a heavy load on it and my Mini took 15 minutes to analyze one segment and would only give me a few seconds for a demo. It was not enough to spend the money on a copy for me. I cannot believe that there is nothing in the mac ecosystem that would address this. What solution did you use, @TarbosaurusRex ?
