Would you be so kind and explain me why Audacity starts by default with Mono
What’s UX behind this, philosophy, etc. explain please. Usually people like me have 2 ears, so stereo is standard. Please let me understand why you decided to use MONO as DEFAULT. Thank you.
Mono is delivered equally to both ears. Stereo is delivered differently to each ear.
Unless you’re recording from a stereo device, mono is the way to go.
Are recording from a regular mono microphone?
My Audacity seems to “default” to stereo for the microphone and for an external interface but I may have changed it since I installed Audacity a long time ago… (My laptop says it has a “microphone array” so it may be stereo.)
Your operating system usually has mono or stereo settings and they should be set the same.
