.wma file not accepted bij Windows Media Player [SOLVED]

Hi,
Sorry if I am at the wrong adress, but my English is not to good, and I can’t find my way very well in all the supports.
I installed Audacity 2.1.1. and renewed my ffmpeg and lame mp3 library’s. I downloaded directly, not by zip. I use windows 7.
Since I did so I exported a file to WMA which is not recognised by Windows Media Player (vs 12). I never had that problem.
When I open the .wma file, an error code 0x8007000D is displayed. The webhelp site suggests that a wrong codex might be installed. sometimes a text is about tags.
When I open the properties > details of the file, all fields are empty (description, media, audio, etc) exept “File”; but I can’t change the values.
When I try to play the .wma file in Windows Media Centre, the error code is cood1059
When I export the same file to MP3, no problem: all media-details are completed; also when I convert i his file to WMA with Videosoft Free Studio, I can play the file in WMP, but the quality is less (128 bps in stead of 320 bps).

I tried to upload some screendumps as an .docx, or a .pdf file, but they are refused.

Since the same problem occurred when I did exactly the same on a different computer I thought maybe one of you can help me to solve this problem.

thank you for your support.

Does the WMA file import back into Audacity correctly?

Does the file contain metadata when you export it? Try exporting again, but press “Clear” then “OK” in Metadata Editor.

If it still doesn’t work, export as WAV (which is lossless) then convert to WMA by some other means. That way, you won’t lose any more quality than you would by exporting as WMA from Audacity.

Hello Gale,
thanks for your quick reply.

Does the WMA file import back into Audacity correctly?

Yes, it does work correctly reimported in Audacity.

Does the file contain metadata when you export it

Yes, in the Metadata Editor there is the correct information. But in the properties>details from the exported .wma-file there is no information at all, unless the information, given in the metadata Editor is only in the chapter “file”. Exported as an MP3 there are no problems.

Yes! after clearing the Metadata Editor befor exporting, the .wma-file works correctly! Thanks!
