WIndows Media Legacy Player

I cannot get audacity, once the files are in WAV format, to go to the windows media legacy player to put them on a computer stick in d drive. Before the new version of Audacity came out, this used to be easy. Now I am frustrated as to how it is done. How do I fix this problem?

Thanks, KR

You can export the files to .wav?
If so, what does prevent you to copy them to the USB stick?
Please explain your problem.

When I export the files, they are supposed to go to Windows Media Player Legacy to create a playlist, but they never show up there. I see the files I created in export before they are exported, but not after. I can’t figure this out.

In Audacity’s settings dialog you can define the folder where the exported files should “land”. I do not know how/where Windows media legaca player stores it’s playlist files, but if it is just a standard folder, you should select this one.

I tried this. The files will not go to the legacy player to make playlist. Any other suggestions?

After you have a WAV file this has nothing to do with Audacity.

You can export to a thumb drive if you wish. (You can’t save an Audacity project to a thumb drive.)

I don’t normally use Windows Media Player for music (sometimes I use it for video) and I don’t know if I have the “legacy” version, but you should be able to add the file to your music library.

The version I have says “Add Folder” so maybe you have to add the whole folder and not just one song unless there’s only one song in the folder.

It shouldn’t mater where it’s physically located. WMP just has to know where it is when you add it to the library. But you can (obviously) move it to wherever your other music is with Windows Explorer,

I tried it but no other results any body out there have any other suggestions?
