Windows 10 possible conflict

Extract from Windows 10 Event Viewer. Any ideas what this ‘conflict’ maybe please?
I am using Audacity version 2.1 3 on Windows10, version 1809 and am experiencing runaway memory use via svchost/UnistackSvcGroup. I note from searching that this has many possible causes and just want to check if other users have experienced this problem recently. The memory usage gradually increases until the memory is virtually fully utilised.

Activation context generation failed for “C:\Program Files (x86)\Audacity\audacity.exe”.Error in manifest or policy file “” on line . A component version required by the application conflicts with another component version already active. Conflicting components are:. Component 1: C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\manifests\amd64_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.17763.253_none_05b2388e0721fece.manifest. Component 2: C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.17763.253_none_4d5f6f651b9e27d4.manifest.

The problem could be due to using an old version of Audacity: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/

Thanks Steve. Updated to latest and rechecked. Not the cause of memory runaway. But conflict report solved.
Cheers Ron

I also faced this issue once & resolved the same way. It’s must to use latest version if you want to stay away from errors.
