Windows 10, Audacity V 2.0.3

I received Audacity as a gift, V 2.0.3. I connected the cassette player and installed the program. However I am not able to find the proper USB Audio Codec or Microphone USB Audio Controller options for Recording.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked. However after recording, there was no sound when I played back.

Now, attempting again, I am back to my original settings with no USB options for Recording.

I am using Windows 10.

Thank you

Audacity 2.0.3 is ancient. The current version is Audacity 2.1.1 which you can get here: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/

When using a USB audio device, connect the device before you launch Audacity.
Then select the required input and output devices from the device toolbar.
